The established chain of Golden Tulip Hotels can be found in 5 continents, 51 countries and 234 cities. The brand is owned by the fifth largest hotel group in the world, French Company Groupe du Louvre, who own various luxury hotel brands. In 2017 Hochiki devices were specified for installation in the newly built Golden Tulip Hotel in Doha, Qatar.
In 2017 the Golden Tulip Hotel chain started building a brand-new hotel located in the West Bay district of Doha. The hotel was designed to combine royal architecture with contemporary facilities. The hotel is a short distance from the port which enables quick access to Souq Waqif and The Corniche.
The new hotel was proposed to be 17 storeys high, featuring 193 rooms, 2 restaurants and an outdoor pool. When completed the hotel would be able to accommodate approximately 500 occupants and with this number of employees and guests, ensuring their safety would of course be a top priority.
The hotel required an efficient and reliable fire detection solution, therefore installation specialist Isheild were approached by international multidisciplinary consultancy practice James Cubitt & Partners Ltd, who oversaw the design and installation of the system.
One of the key requirements for this project was for the fire detection devices to be aesthetically pleasing and for design continuity to be maintained throughout the hotel; Hochiki’s sleek and reliable devices were therefore chosen with no hesitation.
James Cubitt & Partners Ltd therefore specified two of Hochiki’s 4 Loop FireNET panels and 700 UL & FM approved addressable smoke detectors, along with a voice evacuation system.

To the satisfaction of all stakeholders the project was completed successfully and on time and the hotel was able to open in October 2017.
